Connecting the module
















If you are using actuators for safety-related functions, it is essential that you note the follow-
ing:
} A safety assessment must be made for each individual application.
} Input modules may not be used within an output block. If an error occurs, input modules
could supply an external voltage which cannot be switched off.
} The position of each single actuator must be monitored, e.g. via an FS feedback loop
with test pulses.
} To prevent contact welding, a fuse should be connected before the periphery supply in-
feed (see Technical details).
} The following applies for floating actuators:
All actuator masses must be fed back to the output modules.
} The following applies for earthed actuators:
The possibility of a short circuit to + 24 V of the external supply voltage must be exclud-
ed.
When using modules of type PSSu E PD in an output block, please note the following:
} Do not connect capacitive loads.
} During the power-up test, the relay contacts are tested with pulses of up to 60 ms.
